Stila Nail Polish: City Lights

It's been a while since I did a Nail Art post. My nails have been pretty janky lately; different lengths, brittle and generally not so cool and groovy. But but but I recently got a nice selection of goods including some Stila Nail Polish and I just had to try it out.

This is Stila Nail Polish in City Lights. It is a gorgeous gold glitter polish, very sparkly. I don't have anything like this in my polish collection so it is a lovely addition.

The glitter isn't too dense in the polish, it has just the right balance of clear polish and glitter particles (glarticles as they shall henceforth be known). Some polishes look nice but then you end up with, like, 4 glarticles on the nail. Some polishes are overly glittery and you end up looking like you fingered a unicorn. This one is just perfect. A nice amount of glitter, great on its own or over another colour.

On it's own it gives a nice subtle bit of glitz to otherwise boring fingernails. As with all glitter polishes it does leave the fingers with a rough texture, but nothing that a little clear top coat can't deal with. The polish is long lasting and so far hasn't chipped or peeled at all. My experience with glitter polishes is that they can sometimes start to peel, as they seem to be more gelatinous than other hard lacquers. This Stila polish is not like that at all, it dries perfectly, and since you don't need too many coats to get a nice coverage of glarticles, you don't end up with uneven, patchy nails. Love it.
